We recognise communication is the overriding element to good management so this course looks at some of the barriers to it; the importance of it and provides some fundamental skills and tactics to enable managers to do their job well. This course looks at management v leadership and the qualities of a good leader; touching on different management styles and their uses. We assess the teams and their styles together with investigating what motivates employees to work for the organisation. We run through the key elements of prioritising; planning and time management with group exercises and some suggested approaches to assist with this area. We will set some SMART objectives and work through goal setting for employees following an 8 step coaching model. A good manager recognises that they can’t do everything themselves and delegation is key for their teams development and to ensure that the manager focuses on their tasks effectively. Following a decision making exercise; delegates will be aware of the key steps in the decision making process and will know how to apply this in their own situation.
