About the course
This series of 3 hour workshops is aimed at British Sign Language/English interpreters; communication support workers and other interested parties with the view of teaching vocabulary about a specified topic. It will cover situations that may arise as well as providing an opportunity of discussion. It is tailored to the following main subjects – Sex; Mental Health & Therapy; Medicine; Social Care; Confidentiality; Police; Religion & Culture; Taboo & Ban News; Children & Families – SER; American influence including fingerspelling.
Working with and alongside children, young people, families and adults exposed to social disadvantage and inequalities is at the heart of our work. Resilience research and practice provides powerful knowledge to help people having particularly tough times.
