About the CPD course
Over the last two decades; it has become clearer that climate change will have significant impact on business. The disruption caused by physical impacts and the transition to a low-carbon economy could potentially lead to a variety of risks and opportunities. It is the role of the board and senior management to understand these positive and negative impacts and to ensure appropriate actions are taken to address climate-related risks and opportunities. This course is designed to introduce the basics of climate governance; including understanding the potential impact of climate change; the duty of boards; and principles of effective board governance.
The Carbon Disclosure Project is a global organization, with regional offices and local partners spanning 50 countries. There are now companies, cities, states and regions from over 90 countries that disclose to CDP. CDP runs the global environmental disclosure system. Each year CDP supports thousands of companies, cities, states and regions to measure and manage their risks and opportunities on climate change, water security and deforestation. Over the last two decades the CDP have created a system that has resulted in unparalleled engagement on environmental issues worldwide.
