About the CPD course
This workshop consists of two lectures covering the main ideas for a theory of the body-mind; optimal development and therapeutic action following the Affect Regulation Theory. Two systems are described. One is an implicit system that develops early (third trimester of pregnancy 18 months) and is foundational. It operates instantaneously and involuntarily: our visceral reactions. The other is an explicit system that develops later (2-6 years) and is a conscious; deliberate and verbally reflective system. Affect regulation theory proposes that personality and other developmental psychiatric disorders stem from early attachment trauma and its effects on the capacity to regulate affect.
We are a team of people working to ensure that training events are of the highest quality for a professional European as well as international audience.
