About the course
The course gives a broad introduction to the theory; values and process of PBS and the concept of challenging behaviour. Participants are introduced to the basic building blocks of the Antecedent- Behaviour- Consequence (ABC) model of human behaviour and how this forms a basis for understanding challenging behaviour. Participants learn the importance of preventing challenging behaviour by creating helpful environments; and are given tools to assess their own service settings. Participants learn the key elements involved in developing PBS Plans; and learn to assess the readiness of their own service to put PBS into practice.
