This syllabus sets out the guidance issued by the UK Asbestos Training Association (UKATA) for the provision of asbestos training for those requiring an overview of managing asbestos containing materials in buildings. The document provides the syllabus for the training along with guidance on the minimum content of courses. Trainers can offer bespoke or Literature: approved Apr 16 tailored training for the remainder of any training session but the core content MUST be adhered to. This syllabus is open to all UKATA Professional Members as an additional course offered and approved by UKATA. Applicants must be able to demonstrate compliance with this syllabus by way of material verification which must include course presentation; course handouts; proformas; documentation used and course assessment/exam. UK Asbestos Training Association (UKATA) set the standards in asbestos training and ensures that its members meet those standards. UKATA Members train in excess of 200,000 tradespeople each year. The Association actively promote asbestos awareness, to include the dangers of working with the substance and health threats associated.
