  • Designated Mental Health Lead in Schools - Day 2

    This is a 5 day course run over a year to support schools to identify and train a designated mental health (MH) lead as identified in the Transforming Children and Young People’s Mental Health Provision Green paper. This course provides an audit; knowledge and skills for the individual attending whilst providing resources to support practice and develop policy in their schools. It promotes a ‘whole school wellbeing’ approach to MH; looking at whole school systems and promotes simple strategies for looking after each other. It informs about signs and symptoms of specific MH difficulties; how to support or seek assistance.

    The 2nd Annual Preventing Children & Young People from Radicalisation & Extremism Conference

    This second annual conference offers delegates the perfect opportunity to investigate the best ways of tackling extremism in education throughout the UK. Bringing together key organisations we will examine updates of the Prevent duty policy and what the next steps are to tackle extremism in education. We will have best practice case-studies from schools; universities and local authorities on the best approach to community cohesion and what we as a whole society are doing to tackle our biggest challenge – terrorism and extremism in education.

    LearnED Roadshow- Helping teachers maximise the use of EdTech in the classroom

    The LearnED roadshow is a series of CPD events taking place in ten English regions. The event is run jointly by BESA and the Department for Education (DfE). LearnED is a conference for head teachers and senior school leaders and will aim to inspire and inform school decision-makers through peer-to-peer panel discussions about the effective use of EdTech to improve teaching and learning outcomes; assessment; support leadership and management across the whole school.

    CYD? Teacher Conference

    Designed to unite & inspire teachers from across the UK; igniting fresh new ideas. This one day programme is aimed at teachers & student teachers; aged 16+. Delegates are given the chance to create their own timetable from a list of incredible classes & seminars. All classes are non-syllabus based; therefore welcoming teachers from all examination boards. Practical sessions will cover a variety of styles that are current; fresh and informative. The dance classes will be a mixture of both demonstrations and dancing. Delegates may not repeat sessions throughout the day.

    This conference will allow those who work with GRT communities an invaluable opportunity to hear the latest policy updates and initiatives from senior policymakers designed to integrate Gypsy; Roma and Traveller communities and reduce the inequalities in society that they face. Participants will share challenges with peers and listen to best-practice case studies from across local authorities and grassroots organisations demonstrating successfully proven approaches to integrating and including GRT communities.
