Sustainable Development - Design; Construction and Maintenance
2nd May 2018 09:00 | ICE Training
This one day training course will encourage you to consider your projects differently and equip you with the tools and know-how to revise your design decisions; construction processes and maintenance plans in a sustainable way. You will be able to assess the impact and returns for your decisions; undertaking a technology; ecology and commercial benefit analysis through case study and group exercise.
9th May 2018 09:30 | The British Gear Association (BGA)
Day 1. The seminar will introduce delegates to gear geometry inspection. Providing manufacturers with the knowledge to select appropriate measurement methods and equipment; appreciate the importance of applying good measurement practice and how to correctly interpret measurement results. Day 2. Using gear measuring instruments in a pass/fail process fails to maximise the investment made in measuring equipment and the potential to improve the manufacturing process. Strategies for interpreting measurement results and identifying the cause of the measured errors will be presented. Calibration procedures demonstrated to quantify measurement capability and identify common causes of measurement errors.
Lighting for Horticulture
14th May 2018 19:00 | Lux Magazine - Revo Media Partners
A revolution is happening in horticulture. It’s a seismic shift that will change fundamentally how we grow plants – and it’s all down to lighting. Thanks to the unique properties of LED lighting and major advances in our understanding of plants; we now have exciting possibilities to tune the light to boost yield; customise the plant characteristics and maintain plant health. Learn how YOU can benefit at the Horticultural Lighting Conference Europe.
Gear Cutting & Measurement
15th May 2018 09:30 | The British Gear Association (BGA)
The Seminar will cover basic involute gear theory; terms and definitions for spur and helical gears. This will include introduction to the involute form and its construction/tables and calculations; practical work on the measurement of gears including calculations regarding chordal tooth settings for gear tooth Vernier; constant chord settings to gear tooth Vernier; base tangent micrometer settings; distance over rollers measurement and basic principles of gear hobbing and shaping. The seminar will cover a selection of index and feed change gears and the practical work will include setting up and producing spur & helical gears by hobbing and shaping using a Maxicut 2A shaping machine and Sykes H150 hobbing machine.
