This year's event is focused on giving delegates what they need to understand the trials; and overcome the tribulations; of diabetes care. Faced with a potentially confusing choice of guidelines and a complex political landscape; healthcare professionals in primary care diabetes have perhaps never had a more challenging time in delivering optimal services for our patients. At the same time; therapeutic advances and exciting new care initiatives are giving us cause for great hope. All told; there has never been a better time for us to come together as a community to share our own best-practice examples and gain inspiration from the successes of others.
