This event reviews the criteria for selection of an advocacy issue and will explore the application of the latest academic thinking to the identification of opportunities to bring change. It will enable the identification of a broad range of tools for human rights advocacy and select those which are most effective to deploy for a particular advocacy issue. Ir will provide an understanding if the trade-offs of representation; credibility and accountability in advocacy. It will outline how a human rights advocacy strategy could be evaluated in the short; medium and long-term. It will enable and examination of your own organisation’s existing advocacy strategies and propose ways to strengthen them apply the knowledge gained and be capable of designing fresh strategies.
