PCDS SMART Update in Diabetes

This year’s PCDS SMART update; is a complimentary; one-day meeting taking place in London in June 2019. This educational meeting is designed specifically for primary care healthcare professionals; with the aim of helping them provide more holistic support for their patients with type 2 diabetes. This year’s programme will be presented by a range of specialist diabetes practitioners; hand-selected by the PCDS for their expertise across a broad spectrum of diabetes complications. The theme –‘Broadening’ our approach to diabetes management – will manifest in a combination of plenary sessions; case studies and our ever popular ‘10-minute update’ sessions. Time will be given to a diversity of topics from management of complex cases and cardiovascular risk stratification to optimising service provision. Finally; the day will end with an eye to the future; taking a closer look at emerging trials in type 2 diabetes and recently published data from the 2018/2019 congress season. Personal development plans and revalidation requirements are extremely important and so the meeting will be supported by a continuing professional development workbook.
