B Squared Ltd
B Squared have been working with schools for over 20 years, creating assessment frameworks for the curriculums that schools follow. Our approach to assessment allows schools to show the small steps of progress pupils with SEND make. Over the years we have partnered with schools to develop new frameworks and new features.
Organisation Description
B Squared host ‘The Virtual SEND Conference’ to help schools to support their pupils with SEND, in a time when schools are facing ever-increasing financial pressure. Events are broadcast live on the day with a chat facility to enable interaction between speakers and delegates. Videos of all sessions are then available to view online whenever and wherever is convenient.
Over recent years big changes around supporting pupils with SEND have been seen, with very little money and therefore time to fully implement these changes. Professionals working with pupils with SEND need support and guidance on a wide range of areas they are required to be experts on. The Virtual SEND Conferences’ mission is to provide affordable, easily accessible, and easy to share help and guidance to raise the priority of SEND in schools.

Our first Virtual SEND Conference was broadcast live online on 8th November 2019. 12 sessions in total. It covers broad subjects from ‘Horizon Scanning for SEND 2020’, ‘Roles and responsibilities for managing SEND in schools,’ to more niche sessions such as ‘Early intervention’ and ‘Assistive technology.’
Speakers include Jane Friswell, a co-founder of SEND Radicals – a collective of free-thinking, experienced and motivated leaders who are committed to creating positive change for young people with SEND; Lorraine Petersen OBE, former CEO of Nasen and Fintan O’Regan, a former Head Teacher turned consultant specialising in behaviour management strategies for children and families struggling with SEND.
It facilitates the sharing of knowledge within settings and supports teachers with useable downloads. Useful content is at a classroom level; with tips from like-minded professionals; for the everyday challenges SENCOs and teachers face in helping children with SEND.
