  • Understanding The Role Of The Representative

    This is an e learning course with four one hour modules covering an introduction of the work, role and responsibilities of the local BMA local negotiating committee (lnc) representative. Each module has its own learning objectives listed at the start. The knowledge and skills covered in these modules are often transferable to a clinical setting and usable within the doctor patient relationship.

    This is an e learning course with four one hour modules covering the issues to consider to develop an effective lnc including the leadership required to run an effective lnc. Internal and external influences are considered and participants are aided to build a strategy, interpersonal and influencing skills.

  • The Role Of The BMA Representative On An Effective LNC (Face To Face Course 1)

    Each NHS trust has a local negotiation committee (lnc) at which doctors meet with management and human resource managers to consult, discuss and negotiate matters pertaining to doctors within that employer. The BMA provides this one day practical skills course to develop and build the knowledge and skills that representatives will have covered in the first 2 core on-line training courses. This will provide representatives with a solid grounding of their role.

Each module has its own learning objectives listed at the start.     This is a practical skills course for representatives attending a NHS trust local negotiation committee and covers the consultation, discussion and negotiation process. The course provides representatives with a solid grounding of their role.

  • Redundancy

    This is an e learning course with approximately one – two hour module covering the legal aspects relating to Redundancy and the strategy development for a Local Negotiation Committee (LNC) facing proposals from management to make staff redundant. The law that covers redundancy is covered and some suggestions of actions that can be taken to support people facing redundancy are considered.

  • BMA Scotland -New Consultants course

    A 1 day course aimed at informing soon-to-be or recently appointed consultants about the various non-clinical aspects of becoming a consultant. The course covers the consultant contract terms & conditions; the job planning process; appraisal and revalidation; resilience and the NHS pension scheme.

  • Re:balance - How to reduce stress; improve wellbeing and feel more in control

    8-week modular online course designed to guide practitioners towards improved wellbeing; resilience and quality of life. We explore such topics as: Stress; Coping; Resilience; Wellbeing; Flourishing; Values; Strengths; Self-compassion; Psychological Flexibility; Assertiveness; Friendship; Gratitude; Forgiveness; Engagement; Mindset; Sleep; Diet and Physical Activity. Each week participants are encouraged to test 1-2 small changes and notice what happens. The course provides downloadable tips and templates; ability to track changes in personal wellbeing levels and opportunities to participate in discussion forum with colleagues.
