Basic Child Safeguarding Awareness Training

This course is for professionals directly working with children and families on a day to day basis. Delegates with have little or no initial knowledge of safeguarding and child protection. This course is designed to give delegates an awareness and understanding of Safeguarding & Protecting Children. It also enables delegates to recognise and identify the signs and indicators of abuse. It also addresses the issues faced by people working with children who may suspect abuse it taking place and how to positively respond; report and record.

Advanced Safeguarding and Child Protection Awareness Training

This course is designed to give learners who work with children in either paid or voluntary capacity; a much more in depth awareness and understanding of safeguarding children; child vulnerability and significant harm. It enables individuals to recognise; identify and manage the behaviours/physical indicators that may be present in children who have or who are suffering abuse. The legislation that underpins child protection is explored. A practical approach is taken to identify responsibilities in handling the disclosure; recording and reporting of abuse by children. Practical examples are provided to help those caring for children to deal with difficult situations involving child abuse.

This course is specifically aimed at Designated Safeguarding Lead Persons who have a day to day responsibility to manage and collate information regarding child protection concerns. It also enables delegates to manage disclosures; complete referrals and manage and support staff in relation to safeguarding.
