Organisation Description

The Mulberry Bush Organisation is a not-for-profit charity comprising the Mulberry Bush School where we provide specialist residential therapeutic care treatment and education for severely emotionally troubled children aged 5-13.

  • Understanding, Preventing And De-Escalating Behaviour (UPDB)

    Mulberry Bush Organisation

    This workshop is designed for professionals working with children who exhibit challenging behaviour. The purpose is to introduce the concept of behaviour viewed as a dynamic within the relationship which emotionally impacts all and to introduce the concept that understanding children’s behaviour is the key to working effectively with this.

  • Observational Skills

    This course is aimed at professional staff working in schools. It explores how observation might be useful in understanding behavioural communication and considers way to observe as well as developing confidence in understanding what is observed and provides experience in using observational skills.

  • Writing Behaviour Plans Training Session

    This course is designed to support school staff working with children who require additional support with their behaviour to recognise what that support might be and how to design a working document that supports the child.

  • Reaching out - Reflective Practice Sessions

    These sessions; facilitated by The Mulberry Bush; are held approximately six times a year; are experiential; reflective sessions open to and supporting professionals working with children and young people

  • Caring for children who have been abused

    These 2 x one day training courses are aimed at Foster Carers working with primary and secondary aged children who have been abused. The course is delivered by practitioners experienced in working with abused and traumatised children and will look at using theory to develop our practice and develop an understanding of each child and strategies to work and support them.

    As a school we provide a comprehensive induction programme for all staff. This covers all the statutory requirement; Therapeutic Community Standards and Mulberry Bush School specific areas.

  • Therapeutic Visit Days

    As part of our charitable aim to share good practice we run six open/visit days per year. These are open to any professionals and allows them to develop an insight into our history and work

  • Peer Review Facilitator

    The Peer Review system aims to provide a reflective self-evaluation process; giving insight into individual schools effectiveness in agreed areas; provided by peer colleagues working in a similar situation to your own; in their adopted role of ?critical professional friend?.

  • Attachment Informed Practice in a Primary Setting
