CPD Courses and Workshops Available

  • Chemical Spill Response

Training Course | Ricardo Energy and Environment

    Ricardo Energy and Environment

NCEC’s Chemical Spill Response course provides you with the ability to recognise hazards and understand the information that accompanies chemicals. It offers a comprehensive view on the properties of chemical substances and how they might behave when spilt. This will help you to fully assess the risks; devise a plan to deal with any spillage and ensure the response team follows a safe way of working.

  • Response to Incidents involving Chemical Exposures (RICE)

Training Course | Ricardo Energy and Environment

    Ricardo Energy and Environment

This one-day training course comprises the following modules: Discover how to identify hazard and risk information from placards and labels; and how to read a safety data sheet (SDS); Learn the routes of chemical exposure; the signs and symptoms to look for; and the likely effects; Ensure you make a safe response; Learn how different exposures affect the body and about simple first aid measures to prevent further harm.

  • Chemical Hazard Awareness

Training Course | Ricardo Energy and Environment

    Ricardo Energy and Environment

Chemical Hazard Awareness gives you the vital knowledge to make better risk assessments of the work you do and enables you to make the right choices about safe handling procedures; select the correct protective equipment; and make an effective and safe response to a spillage.

  • Hazmat 1st Response

Training Course | Ricardo Energy and Environment

    Ricardo Energy and Environment

Hazmat 1st Response is designed to ensure effective communication happens between the ‘experts’ (those providing the technical information on the substance) and those dealing with the incident; the emergency services. In the event of a chemical incident; the emergency services; most often the fire and rescue service; will be looking for information about the substance(s) involved. Specifically; they would most like to speak to the manufacturers or suppliers of the substance as they are likely to know the most about it.

  • Crisis Management Training

Training Course | Ricardo Energy and Environment

    Ricardo Energy and Environment

Ricardo’s training seeks to develop the non-technical skills required to operate successfully in high risk situations such as major incidents or crises. These are leadership; decision making; situational awareness; communication and emotional resilience; all of which are critical to effectively managing and responding to crises. The course will explore the theory behind these non-technical disciplines; then allow delegates to practice and develop them in various challenging desktop scenarios.
