  • Auditing in UKAS Accredited Laboratories

    Our training course explores the standard BS EN ISO/IEC 17025 “General requirements for the competence of testing and calibration laboratories”; which is used as the basis for United Kingdom Accreditation Service (UKAS) accreditation. Delegates will be successfully trained on the ISO 17025 auditing requirements and the most cost-effective way of achieving compliance that will ad value to the process. Delegates are taught how to effectively plan and carry out audits in a UKAS accredited laboratory and how a non-compliance root cause can be identified and problems corrected and or prevented. Guidance is also given on developing strategies for dealing with procedural and process related problems.

    The RoHS Directive (2011/65/EU) and the REACH Regulation (EC No. 1907/2006) cover diverse requirements from substance restrictions to CE marking; provision of information to customers and safe use of chemicals. The most essential requirement for manufacturers and importers of goods is gaining and verifying the data from the supply chain as well as handling issues with the same substance and managing obsolescence. This course covers key compliance and technical issues critical to ensure smooth business operation from the legal obligations of both pieces of legislation to future developments which could affect conformity. RoHS compliance covered includes conformity assessment approaches; supplier assessment and compliance using EN 50581; REACH compliance covered includes Substances of Very High Concern (SVHCs); restrictions and the authorisation of chemicals.

  • Common Safety Method for Risk Evaluation and Assessment

    This course has been designed around the new Network Rail; Level 2 Module NR/L3/RSE/100/02 entitled: ‘Application of the Common Safety Method (CSM) on Risk Evaluation and Assessment’. It provides delegates with an overview of the CSM; together with practical techniques for its application to UK rail projects. Part one is undertaken as an e-Learning module and provides ‘awareness’ training on the Common Safety Method for Risk Evaluation and Assessment. Part two is delivered as an interactive workshop and provides ‘practical’ training aimed at the Network Rail competence “Contributor” level CSM training objectives as described in the standard.
