Organisation Description

SCT offers a range of comprehensive autism communication training services that can be tailored to the individual needs of the client. Services are particularly focused on clients who may have a role that involves communicating with/interviewing people with Autism. In particular we provide services across a range of sectors including, health, child and adult social care, education and criminal justice.

  • Autism Spectrum Interviewing & Communications Skills Training

    Training Course | Specialist Communication Techniques

    This four day course aims to provide participants with a thorough understanding of the Autistic Spectrum Condition (ASC) and the skills to communicate more effectively with individuals with an ASC. Although primarily directed at individuals in law enforcement; this course will also provide a valuable insight and skills to other professionals who are required in their professional role to communicate with individuals with an ASC. The course explains autism in detail looking at the condition’s psychological theories; clinical features; and epidemiology to recognised communication strategies.

  • Achieving Best Evidence in Criminal Proceedings - Joint Working & Interview Awareness Training

    Training Course | Specialist Communication Techniques

    A course aimed at local authority staff working with children/young people in investigative situations. Also relevant to other staff working in this field (e.g. legal; healthcare and educational staff). This course is underpinned with a pre-read/workbook. Subjects visited include the importance of a multi-agency working with fellow professionals; ‘Working Together to Safeguard Children (2015); roles and responsibilities; referral thresholds; strategy meetings/discussions; appropriate action on initial contact with a witness; challenging other professionals recording and justifying key decisions within an investigation.
