The National Literacy Trust
Independent charity dedicated to raising literacy levels in the UK
Organisation Description
We work to improve the reading, writing, speaking and listening skills in the UK’s poorest communities, where one in three people have literacy problems. We target our work in the communities that need help most, working with local partners to deliver place-based solutions. National Literacy Trust Hubs create long-term change in communities where low levels of literacy are entrenched, intergenerational and seriously impacting on people’s lives.
We rely on the generous support of individuals, communities and businesses to continue our vital work to transform lives through literacy. Our policy and campaigning work raises awareness of the importance of literacy to make it a priority for politicians, businesses and parents.
