Volunteering Matters has been leading UK volunteering in policy and practice for more than 50 years. We know, through years of successful work, that investing in people through the power of volunteering makes a tangible difference to the volunteer, the beneficiary and society as a whole. Our volunteer programmes help to improve health and wellbeing; build stronger, more inclusive communities; and achieve lasting results.

    Volunteering Matters

    Grandmentors is inter-generational mentoring support for young care leavers; It provides a vital link for young people as they navigate life after care; Our grandmentors come from a wide range of backgrounds and all walks of life; enabling them to understand and meet the range of needs of their mentees; Our trained volunteers; aged 50 and over; forge trusting and positive relationships that support; challenge and empower mentees to unlock their own skills and to shape their own futures; This programme helps transform the lives of vulnerable young people through emotional and practical support;

    Volunteering Matters

    Increase your knowledge of the importing functionality available in the software; Build on previous knowledge gained from taking the iBase Standard Course or by use of the software over time; Use Field Actions to make data conform to your organisation’s standards without affecting original data; Understand by example options for reducing duplication and the possible effects of updating existing records; and learn processes to help when things don’t go as planned; The course uses a variety of information to ensure that students deal with familiar data: such as communication records; financial records; and a variety of standard intelligence reports;

    Volunteering Matters

    Volunteers supporting families is an effective programme; proven to reduce the number of children at risk of going into care. By preventing and de-escalating issues; our volunteers help struggling families to turn things around. Volunteers; recruited from the local community; come from diverse backgrounds. They act as trusted mentors; providing consistent emotional and practical support to families in their homes every week for six months. Volunteers tailor their support to the unique needs of each family; building on strengths and promoting resilience. Support is overseen by the project managers; who are embedded within the local authority’s children’s services team.
