Zero Waste Scotland is funded by the Scottish Government to support the delivery of its Zero Waste Plan and other low carbon and resource efficiency policy priorities. We’re funded to support delivery of the Scottish Government’s circular economy strategy and the EU’s Europe 2020 growth strategy. CPD Courses and Workshops Available

  • Net Waste Tool Training

Online Course | Zero Waste Scotland

The individuals will be trained in the use of the Netwaste tool. This tool allows the individual to calculate the amount of materials they need to complete their project. It also allows them to set targets for recycled content and monitor and measure against it. The tool fundamentally helps reduce waste; promotes the use of reused or recycled content materials and supports resource efficiency.

  • Site Waste Management Tool Training

Online Course | Zero Waste Scotland

The individuals will be trained in the use of the Site Waste Management Plan tool. The plan supports the efficient use of materials on site and helps reduce waste and maximise recovery of materials.

  • Whole Life Costing Tool Training

Online Course | Zero Waste Scotland

The individuals will be trained in the use of the Whole Life Costing tool. This tool allows the individual to calculate the total whole life cost of the building/project; building on total build cost with in use cost and end of life cost. This allows the designer of the building to make the right decisions to reduce in use and end of use resource use and waste generation.

  • Giving and Receiving Feedback

Training Course | Zero Waste Scotland

This is an internally focused interactive half day training workshop. The ZWS Learning & Development Strategy involves moving away from a classroom approach to development to more peer to peer development and sharing of skills and experience. Activities such as helping fellow members of the ZWS facilitation Community of Practice; sharing ideas within one of the organisational working groups; mentoring peers and carrying out lessons learned activities all need good feedback skills. To make this work we need to develop an organisational culture where feedback is considered normal and is well received; well given and actively sought. These workshops help everyone feel comfortable and confident in such a culture and focus on active participation through group exercises and facilitated discussion.
