About the CPD course

This two-day course is aimed at nurses and physiotherapists who wish to develop skills in the assessment and initial treatment of patients with lower bowel dysfunction. The practical session will also equip participants with skills to assess pelvic floor muscle function in male patients with bladder dysfunction. Participants are taught the theory supporting the assessment of lower bowel dysfunction and gain practical experience in the clinical assessment of anorectal function via an abdominal and anorectal examination. Participants will also have the opportunity to experience the ‘patient’s’ perspective and are invited to act as ‘patient models’ during the practical sessions.
