Recording and Communication

This course recognises the importance of effective recording and why we need to be clear and jargon free. Participants will consider and discuss the need for evidence based recording and look at issues around information sharing. They will also get to discuss how learning styles can affect communication and thus the importance of building good relationships and engaging with young people. Participants will assess their own learning style; the VARK modalities and the Kolb learning cycle in developing an understanding of how we may communicate more effectively. The concept of motivational interviewing is discussed in conjunction with active listening and assertiveness skills.
