About the CPD course

This course is aimed at healthcare assistants to upskill their knowledge and understanding of dementia and the management during latter stages of disease. It ensures a holistic approach of care; and an appreciation to why an individual may be displaying certain symptoms. It enables the condition to be understood better; and alleviates any fears that maybe present in the management of individuals with dementia. It further embraces dignity; respect and compassion and teaches individuals to look at the symptoms of the disease which maybe causing additional confusion and/or disorientation.

People with progressive, life-limiting illnesses such as cancer, heart disease, motor neurone disease and Parkinson's disease can access a range of support services and treatments at the Hospice. These include day therapy, complementary therapy, carers groups, inpatient care and counselling support to help them live the best life they can.
