About the CPD course

This course looks at the impact of working in roles which bring us into contact with vulnerable children and adults. Work with people who have or are experiencing trauma makes us susceptible to psychological and emotional problems. We are then at risk of developing secondary and or vicarious trauma. The Course describes what secondary trauma is; how it impacts individuals and what you and your workplace can do to prevent being overwhelmed by it. Finally the course discusses self- care and how developing self-care strategies supports both recovery and prevention.
