About the CPD course
The Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) predicts that the impacts of climate change are set to become stronger even if global warming is kept to 1.5 degrees Celsius. This is likely to have a significant impact on businesses by exposing them to climate-related risks. This course is designed to create an understanding about physical and transition risks; and their financial impact on business and finance. It intends to explain how climate change risk can be managed within a business; focusing on incorporating climate change into risk management processes. It also introduces and provides insights into the first stages of conducting a scenario analysis.
CDP is the only global disclosure system for companies, cities, states and regions to manage their environmental impacts and for investors or purchasers to access environmental information for use in financial decisions.
Climate change, water scarcity and deforestation are unparalleled global challenges that require a systemic change in market behavior. To achieve this, CDP runs the global disclosure system that enables companies, cities, states and regions to measure and manage their environmental impacts.
