About the CPD course
This course develops knowledge; understanding and awareness of domestic violence and abuse with a focus on coercive control and the impact on women. It provides a safe learning space to improve knowledge and understanding of key issues and confidence to respond and improve your work practice. It utilises the original dynamic drama LADY IN RED; taking participants through one woman’s journey to escape an abusive relationship. It explores – emotional; physical; financial; sexual and psychological abuse. This is accompanied by; interactive activities; group discussions and reflection.

Theatre is an excellent medium for challenging and changing attitudes. Using dynamic original theatre we reveal the dynamic of power and control, enabling audiences to connect with the issues on a personal and emotional level. Helping them ‘experience’ the subject matter and develop a deeper understanding and insight into the complex issues of domestic abuse.
