About the CPD course

Mental health includes emotional; psychological; and social well-being. It affects how people think; feel; and act; helping to determine how people handle stress; relate to others; and make healthy choices. Mental health disorders; refers to a wide range of mental health conditions that affect an individual’s mood; thinking and behaviour. Examples of mental illness include depression; anxiety; schizophrenia; eating disorders and addictive behaviours; including substance misuse. As healthcare providers coming across clients with mental health disorders and substance use issues is a daily occurrence. Having an understanding about these conditions is vital in meeting the needs of this client group.
