Deaf Awareness & Interaction Training

Training on deaf awareness and interaction provides education on deaf culture; language; and communication needs; covering diverse communication methods like American Sign Language and other gestural languages. The program also addresses the barriers deaf people face while accessing information and communication. Topics such as the history and culture of the deaf community; communication modes used by them; and technology and accommodations available are included. After the course; professionals in healthcare; social work; education; or anyone interested in deaf culture can competently interact and support the communication needs of deaf individuals.
