This course outlines key elements Early Years Foundation Stage statutory framework (EYFS); to support both new and experienced educators to understand and implement the EYFS in their provision. However; it is not intended to be a substitute for reading the statutory framework itself; but rather should be considered alongside other guidance such as: Development Matters non-statutory curriculum guidance for the early years foundation stage (DfE 2021 updated 2023); Birth to 5 Matters (Early Years Coalition 2021); Progress Check at Age Two non-statutory guidance for the early years foundation stage (DfE 2022).
The Early Years Alliance is the largest and most representative early years membership organisation in England. We support early years providers to deliver quality, affordable and sustainable care and learning to families, and work to ensure that all children, regardless of background, are given the best possible start in life. The Alliance’s vision is a society where every child enjoys the same opportunity to learn through play. We believe families should be at the centre of policy-making and parents empowered to become more involved with their child’s learning and development.
