An advanced phlebotomy course consisting of online learning (Part 1 theory) followed by either a classroom or virtual classroom skill-based training session (Part 2 practicals). Covers all aspects of skill-set development and advanced phlebotomy skills. Training includes revision of basic phlebotomy techniques; an understanding of aspirated and evacuated systems; advanced phlebotomy skills and techniques; neonates & geriatric patients; point of care testing; equipment handling including correct use of centrifuges; legal consent & documentation; handling patient allergies; drug trials and challenging patients.
