About the CPD course
The IFoEC Level 1 Esports Coaching course aims to get current and aspiring esports coaching thinking about the role of the coach in esports and introduce them to several fundamental topics for supporting players. A range of sources; reflective questions and practical techniques are introduced in order to help the learner to better understand the tasks of an esports coach and establish/refine their approach to coaching.

The IFoEC was founded in 2019 based on two core beliefs that still stand today. The first is that coaches and team staff all have an important role in protecting the health, well-being and rights of children, young people and vulnerable adults involved in gaming and esports. The second is that research-informed training and access to a community of peers can help coaches and team staff impact far more than just the competitive success of their players.
These beliefs continue to drive our work in safeguarding, education and research.
