This course deals specifically with the financial appraisal and explores the main methods of assessing scheme viability in the affordable housing sector and also the open market. It explains the various types of appraisal methodologies such as Payback Period; Profit and Loss; Discounted Cashflow; IRR and Yields. It discussed the various threshold/hurdle requirements; how they are calculated and what affects them. We also spend some time on the residual appraisal method and cashflow. The course is designed to be interactive and allow discussion on some of the more troublesome themes.
