Disaster Planning

In large part; health and social care involves vulnerable individuals whose lives are even more adversely affected when disaster comes. Therefore; there is responsibility for health and social care organisations and those working in them to plan carefully for disaster; that which impairs or severely disables the organisation's functionality. It's about expecting the unexpected; from natural disaster to computer failure with a view to getting comprehensive plans in place to avert the disaster and/or limit its impact. The worker needs to understand their role and how to react when the time comes. Doing so is in the best interests of those who receive health or social care services from them.
