About the CPD course

Current medical practice is mostly evidence based. For medical personnel: it is mandatory to understand the basic concepts behind research and be able to critically appraise the medical research papers in order to identify the current best evidence and apply it in clinical practice. The course is offered in the form of a full day workshop. Aims of the workshop are to understand the basic concepts behind research and to be able to appraise research papers. It also includes Statistics involving the sensitivity/ specificity: confidence intervals: Risk Ratios/Odds Ratios etc. along with systematic step by step appraisal of a research paper.

For the past 20 years, Neelam has been an NHS Doctor working in the UK practicing Evidence Based Medicine. She is a senior Obstetrician and Gynaecologist also on the specialist register of GMC. In the Medical field she has had advanced skills training in Medical Education and has been actively teaching and training medical doctors and students. She has delivered many talks covering a wide variety of topics in National and International conferences.
