About the CPD course

This course will focus on teaching the correct techniques to withdraw blood correctly. Learners will be able to implement the process of withdrawing blood, including procedures pre, post and after withdrawal of blood. In addition, learners will hold knowledge about blood facts, functions of blood. Venous anatomy and physiology and will identify the difference between an artery and vein. Learners will also learn about the equipment required, needle sizes and how to correctly apply a tourniquet. This training course will provide essential knowledge and techniques for Venepuncture, blood withdrawing Techniques, Health & Safety, direct and indirect complications of Phlebotomy, the different tubes and order of blood.
