SEBD are becoming more prevalent globally.Teachers are expected to provide an eclectic approach to address challenging behaviour; drawing from a range of models and perspectives; in response to the needs and capabilities of the child (Cooper & Jacobs; 2011; NEPS; 2010). Teachers will be learning about; discussing and drawing from a range of relevant reading material to explore social learning theories; cognitive behavioural theories; attachment theories and systemic theories.
Our goal is to encourage and support the empowered decision-making of teachers through online courses and face-to-face workshops nationwide. Launched in 2017, Rahoo are a Department of Education Approved Provider of Continuous Professional Development (CPD) for Teachers. We have a team of passionate and dedicated Professional Tutors nationwide from a variety of specialisms in education. To date, we have worked with over 6,000 teachers in Ireland by providing CPD Summer Courses, which are approved for EPV Days and CPD Short Courses. Our CPD courses for teachers prioritise strategies that are effective and efficient and embed opportunities throughout for teachers to reflect and identify what may work for them, their students and school context.
