About the CPD course

This one-day training on working with individuals and families who are experiencing loss through the terminal illness and death of their child focuses on common issues faced by professionals supporting them. By exploring bereavement theory, our experience and reactions to the work and proven strategies to enhance practice the course will build both knowledge and confidence. Though case studies and experiential activities participants can think about barriers to understanding the complex issues surrounding the work. The training also covers effective use of supervision and building and maintaining resilience in the challenging work.

Rainbow Trust Children’s Charity supports families who have a child aged 0-18 years with a life-threatening or terminal illness. There are an estimated 86,625* children in England with life-limiting or life-threatening conditions. This number has trebled over the last 17 years and is rising. Thousands of families have to face the very real possibility that their child may die and struggle to cope on a day to day basis. Rainbow Trust Family Support Workers provide a lifeline to these families and children.

 

The Rainbow Trust Children's Charity provide bespoke support for families who have a child with a serious illness. We offer the whole family support, regardless of diagnosis and are there for as long as a family needs us.
