About the CPD course

An interactive; practical session introducing the themes of Child to Parent Violence. It will raise awareness of CPV and provide participants with an opportunity to explore the dynamics of the issue and strategies to support families. Information will be provided on definitions; background theories; prevalence; risk factors; case studies and behaviour patterns; an overview models of work will be provided. The session will increase knowledge of this issue and ways to respond. As an example; of intervention it will specifically refer to the BRF Project which in the Thames Valley. Restorative film dialogue of work with families is shown.

SAFE! Support for Young People affected by crime

SAFE! provides support to children and families around the Thames Valley who have been affected by crime or abuse through one-to-one and group sessions SAFE! has two core services for children and families living anywhere in the Thames Valley: The Young Victim Service provides support to children aged 5 up to 18 who have been harmed by an experience of victimisation. The Building Respectful Families Service provides support to families experiencing Child on Parent Violence.
