Sibs Talk – A primary school intervention for siblings of disabled children

Training Course Sibs

About the CPD course

This practical training workshop focuses on the needs of siblings of disabled children; an overlooked group within the school population. There are an estimated 500;000 sibling children in the UK. Children and young people growing up with a disabled brother or sister often get less attention from their parents and have more worries and responsibilities than their peers. Many siblings struggle to get homework done and have an overall slightly increased risk for problems with wellbeing and educational attainment. The workshop will help teaching staff identity and support the specific needs of siblings within the school setting.
