About the CPD course

One of the significant changes to Keeping Children Safe in Education in 2022 was that DSLs should be aware of the requirement for children to have an Appropriate Adult when necessary. The role of the Appropriate Adult is to safeguard the interests: rights: entitlements and welfare of children and vulnerable people suspected of a criminal offence. The course provides an understanding of the expectations and principles of this role: the steps to take when involving the police in pupil searches together with information on less invasive searches: strip searches and intimate searches.
