About the CPD course
This training workshop will explore how to communicate effectively with children and adolescents. Exploration of child development theory will underpin the practical and creative approaches used in building rapport: exploring the childs world: and communicating in a meaningful manner. Challenges and barriers to effective communication will be considered with input from participants and opportunity for questions and feedback. Communicating with children and adolescents with disabilities will be explored from a children's rights perspective. Participants will be guided in creating a creative toolkit that they can use with children and adolescents: and further reading and resources will be provided.
We are a group of social workers who are specifically trained and qualified to provide therapeutic support services to children, young people and their families, who have been impacted by sexual abuse. As a team we have over 53 years of collective experience.
Our teams' mission is to create a safe and nurturing environment where young people feel comfortable and safe enough to explore their thoughts and feelings. We are passionate about providing high quality therapeutic support that reduces the harmful effects of sexual abuse on children and their futures.
