Positive Behaviour Support Awareness Course

Training Course Steven Carnaby Associates

About the CPD course

This one-day course considers the role of Positive Behaviour Support (PBS) in providing quality support to people with learning disabilities who can present behaviours of concern; providing standard definitions and describing its core characteristics. PBS is placed in a policy context and the importance of quality of life rather than reduction of challenging incidents is emphasised. Delegates are given an understanding of why behaviours of concern are thought to occur; their meaning to individuals and the role of a ‘capable environment’ in prevention and effective support.
