About the CPD course

Postvention Assisting those Bereaved By Suicide (PABBS) aims to increase the knowledge; skills of professionals; so that they can appropriately respond to and care for those bereaved or affected by suicide. PABBS suicide bereavement training is evidence-based; evaluated and first of its kind internationally. It has been informed by a three-year study at the University of Manchester which was funded by the National Institute for Health Research (NIHR). The PABBS study has produced four academic research articles. NIHR continues to support the further development and delivery of PABBS training to help address a national unmet need and government priority.

Suicide Bereavement UK

Suicide Bereavement UK conducts suicide bereavement research, provides consultancy on postvention and develops and delivers evidence-based suicide bereavement training. The team have considerable experience working in this field and have a unique skill set, which enables them to be considered leaders in this newly developing field in the UK. We also hold an annual international suicide bereavement conference in Manchester every September, where over 350 attend from 8 different countries.
