About the CPD course
A two-day course covering all the basics of working inclusively and an in depth look into Deaf awareness. The course covers the models of Deafness and disability; correct language use and an exploration of the types of barriers faced. You will learn about Deaf awareness within a wide variety of scenarios; covering all communication preferences and a basic introduction to learning British Sign Language. By the end of the course; you will feel more confident and equipt to welcome and/ or work with Deaf/ disabled and neurodivergent people.
At Taking Flight we make bold, unusual theatre productions with Deaf, disabled, non-disabled and neurodiverse performers. Our work tours Wales and beyond and we often find ourselves in out of the way places, as traditional theatre venues.
