About the CPD course
This training gives practitioners practical behaviour support strategies; including a toolkit of de-escalation and intervention approaches and communication skills to minimise risk and reduce conflict. This includes recognising and responding to distress; dynamic risk assessment; and recording and reporting procedures. Practitioners also learn safe and effective physical interventions; based on the specific needs of their organisation; with the aim to reduce the use of restrictive practices. Through this training; practitioners recognise behaviour as communication; develop skills to build effective relationships with the individuals they support; and learning knowledge; skills and understanding to support behaviour appropriately and consistently in their organisation.
We provide behaviour support training to professionals working in education and health and social care settings. Over 100,000 people a year receive our award-winning, accredited training and over 3,000 people have chosen to become Team Teach Trainers.
We promote a holistic approach to behaviour support that considers an individual’s physical, emotional, and social well-being, focuses on respectful care, and considers behaviour as a form of communication. Our aim is to equip professionals with the knowledge, skills, and attitudes to support the individuals in their care effectively, and reduce risk for everyone.
