About the CPD course
Do your job do it well do no harm. This course trains journalists; producers editors and camera operators to become Trauma-aware Professionals. It focusses on how best to work with victims survivors and interviewees who are distressed grieving or hurting. It also includes self-care for journalists when covering people’s sensitive stories. It is live online interactive and punctuated with audio clips from survivors who chose to speak to reporters at tough times sharing their insight. There’s insight too from journalists including Louis Theroux and Jeremy Bowen. It is based around the book Trauma Reporting A Journalist’s Guide to Covering Sensitive Stories by the author trainer and senior journalist Jo Healey. It is offered following a hugely successful roll out within news organisations including BBC News and Current Affairs.
