Hidradenitis suppurativa (HS) is a complex inflammatory disease; which can have a devastating impact on patients; carers; and the healthcare system. This medical education seminar (non-promotional) gives an overview of the pathology of HS; the impact of the disease on the patient's quality of life; the commonly used clinical outcome measures; and the relevant guidelines. We also discuss the cost impact of HS on the healthcare system and society.
