BACPR is a membership organisation, with over 900 health and exercise professionals across the UK, working towards our goal; promoting excellence in cardiovascular disease prevention and rehabilitation.

CPD Courses and Workshops Available

  • Physical Activity and Exercise in the Management of Cardiovascular Disease ( Part 1)

Training Course | British Association for Cardiovascular Prevention and Rehabilitation (BACPR)

British Association for Cardiovascular Prevention and Rehabilitation (BACPR)

The Part 1 course provides a 2-day foundation programme in the principles of physical activity and exercise in the prevention and management of cardiovascular disease. This course includes both a theoretical and practical component aiming to equip health professionals with sound knowledge and understanding as well as key practical delivery skills required to meet the core standards and national guidelines for delivery of group; one-to-one and home activity programmes.

  • Physical Activity and Exercise in the Management of Cardiovascular Disease (Part 2)

Training Course | British Association for Cardiovascular Prevention and Rehabilitation (BACPR)

British Association for Cardiovascular Prevention and Rehabilitation (BACPR)

This 2 day course provides advanced applications of physical activity and exercise in the prevention and management of cardiovascular disease. It explores the clinical reasoning for the inclusion of the higher risk and complex cardiac patient; such as heart failure; arrhythmias; ICD’s; unstable blood pressure and diabetes. In addition additional subjects covered include the safety of high intensity sports and activities; resistance training; water-based activity and difficult clinical scenarios. The Part 2 course extends the core knowledge; understanding and skills gained in Part 1.

  • Physical Activity and Exercise in Heart Failure: Assessment; prescription and Delivery

Training Course | British Association for Cardiovascular Prevention and Rehabilitation (BACPR)

British Association for Cardiovascular Prevention and Rehabilitation (BACPR)

This one-day study day is aimed at all professionals involved in the delivery of exercise to cardiac patients who wish to expand their knowledge to include the heart failure patient. This course aims to increase awareness of the impact of physical activity and exercise in this patient group through developing an understanding of the relationship between risk assessment; baseline functional assessment and subsequent exercise prescription. Physiological mechanisms relating to heart failure are explored and principles in exercise prescription are applied to enable adaptations in respect to co-morbidity and cardio-assistive devices. Course delivery will be both lecture based and through interactive case study discussion. Knowledge gained will enable delegates to deliver safe; effective; evidence-based practice.
