Organisation Description

I have worked with parents and children for over 20 years in a variety of roles. I am an experienced and dynamic leader who has worked both in the statutory and voluntary sector to manage projects from inception to delivery of challenging targets. I am an enthusiastic individual keen to motivate others and support them to develop to their full potential.

I have over 10 years of leadership and management experience. Alongside this I have had 20 years experience of training. I have developed my own programmes in response to identified training needs, and delivered accredited courses. Both in my paid work and voluntary roles, I work with community members, staff and partners and I have developed excellent interpersonal, written and verbal skills to communicate at different levels. I source about 50% of my work directly with clients and for the other 50% am delighted to work with various training and consultancy companies, ensuring that my knowledge and professional development is always up to date.

  • Safeguarding Level 2

    This is an introductory course suitable for anyone who works with children, young people and adults at risk either in a paid role or as a volunteer. By the end of the course learners will have developed awareness of possible signs of abuse they will know what to do if a child or adult at risk is being abused and have considered wider issues of abuse. The course also covers other key areas of safeguarding personal and professional boundaries and overviews the procedure for managing allegations. The course can be run either for those who work with children, or to include adults at risk.

  • Advanced Safeguarding – Level 3

    This is an advanced course suitable for anyone who works with children, young people at adults at risk, either in a paid role or as a volunteer. This course builds on learning in basic safeguarding knowledge to consider statutory guidance and processes including the continuum of need. By the end of the course learners will have developed awareness of the challenges of multi agency working the role of the designated safeguarding lead and identified their own priorities for developing their role as reflective practitioners. The course can be run either for those who work with children, or to include adults at risk.

  • Working with Parents Level 4.

    This is an advanced course suitable for staff or volunteers who work with parents; eg a family support or early intervention worker. This Course is for practitioners with knowledge and understanding around their roles who wish to develop their practice through reflection and research. The Course requires learners to have safeguarding knowledge and an understanding of child development as a pre-requisite for the Course. Learners will develop an appreciation of what reflective practice it and how this can help them to develop. This is supported by exploring how effective partnership with parents are developed and sustained.

  • Essential First Aid Life Saving Skills

    This is an introductory first aid course suitable for those who want basic lifesaving skills or who want to refresh their knowledge. The content is focused on saving lives and is for those who work with or are likely to need to give first aid to adults. Assessment is through practical hands on tasks so that learners are able to demonstrate the skills they have acquired.

  • Working in Childcare Level 2

    This is a Level 2 course suitable for anyone who wants to find out more about working in childcare. No previous knowledge is assumed. An overview of the childcare sector; legal requirements and overview of quality; roles and responsibilities are complemented by experience gained on a short placement.

  • Food Safety In Catering - Level 2

    This is an introductory course suitable for anyone who handles and prepares food. This might be in a commercial catering environment or as a volunteer; e.g. at a local lunch club. By the end of the course learners will understand their responsibilities in relation to food safety. This includes considering individuals hygiene as well as how to keep premises and equipment clean. Other sources of cross contamination are considered as well the importance of cooking and storing food correctly. For learners more suited to Level 1; a more condensed version of the key learning points is available.

  • Outdoor Paediatric First Aid L3

    This is a specialist first aid course for those who work outdoors with children – for example in forest schools. It can either be delivered as a standalone course or alongside a Paediatric First Aid course.

  • Health & Safety Level 2

    The Course will address the laws and an overview of legislation likely to apply to you along with arrangements you should have in place. It will cover your individual and corporate responsibilities; the policies the systems and procedures that you need. You will also appreciate what to risk assess and how to risk assess as well as when the Health and Safety Executive needs to be informed of accidents and incidents.

  • First Aid Refresher course

    This Course is a First Aid Refresher Course. It is suitable for anyone who has a current First Aid certificate and wishes to refresh their knowledge; or who has a first aid certificate which has expired in the last 3 months. It might be that for some reason you cannot attend a full course at this time so this refresher will be suitable. The content is focused on saving lives and is for those who work with or are likely to need to give first aid to adults.

  • Allergen Awareness and Notifiable Diseases

    Jill Webb Training

    This course is suitable for anyone who handles and prepares food. This might be in a commercial catering environment or as a volunteer; eg at a local lunch club. The course assumes knowledge of basic food safety; and builds on this to consider the legislation relating to the management of allergens; the effect that allergens have on the body and strategies to ensure that allergens are clearly labelled. Reducing contamination is covered alongside notifiable diseases and action to take. The course is assessed using a simple multiple choice quiz.
